We are proud to officially announce that St Laurence’s College has been named an Excellence Awardee for the Winc Education Secondary School of the Year - Non Government at the 2024 Australian Education Awards!
The annual event is the leading independent national awards in the K-12 education sector, showcasing top-performing schools making a difference to the lives of young people across Australia.
With hundreds of nominations for the award, to be selected in the top eight schools in Australia is a massive achievement. The College is now in contention for the major prizes and to be named the Winc Education Secondary School of the Year - Non-Government for 2024 at the awards ceremony in August.
The Winc Education Secondary School of the Year - Non Government title is awarded based on consistently high standards of teaching and learning, academic and co-curricular achievements, rigorous professional learning, demonstrated commitment to innovation and continuous improvement and strong communication links with students, parents, teachers and the wider community.
College Principal (Acting) Mr Ben Lowrie remarked on the recognition.
“This is an amazing achievement for the community of St Laurence’s College. The nomination is reflective of the many hard-working staff and students and the contribution of our families, Old Boys and partners, that combine to make St Laurence’s College an excellent Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition. We are humbled to receive this nomination.
Dean of Teaching and Learning and current Deputy Principal (Acting) is excited with the achievement.
“This award is
testament to our outstanding staff who dedicate their time to help us achieve
our mission to provide an authentic, liberating Edmund Rice education for our
students. We are a community filled with opportunity, hope and connection, and are determined to develop our students to become ‘Lauries Gentlemen’.”
