Lauries Community - get ready to mark your calendars for the major 2024 College events!
After its major success this year and selling out in record time, the Lauries Autumn Lunch provides our community with a fantastic opportunity to connect and support a great cause. In 2024, we will venture to the beautiful Greek Club on Sunday 24 March!
Next up will be the Lauries Sports Lunch on Friday 31 May at the BCEC Plaza Terrace. After the likes of Rugby League immortal Mal Meninga, AFL legend Simon Black, Wallabies veteran Steven Moore, Old Boy and Wallabies great Mark Connors and MC Ben Dobbins in 2023, we can't wait to see what 2024 has in store. What better way to unite our passionate sporting community and celebrate our flourishing sporting pathways.
Prospective students and families, this day is for you! The College Open Day, taking place on Thursday 25 July, provides the perfect opportunity to explore everything that makes Lauries unique. Whether it be musical performances, interactive academic and club displays, sporting demonstrations or hearing from College Principal Mr Chris Leadbetter, there is something to discover for everyone! We can't wait to showcase our vibrant community and our spirit of welcome.
The Old Boys Weekend, taking place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August, is a time-honoured tradition that brings back our amazing alumni for a weekend of reconnecting and reminiscing. It's about celebrating the legacy of our past students and strengthening the enduring bonds that tie us all together, no matter where life takes us. It's a time to reconnect and reminisce - we can't wait for the 2014, 2004, 1994, 1984, 1974, 1964 and 1954 reunions.
The dazzling and delightful Lauries Gala Dinner proves to be an elegant evening for our Lauries community. We are excited to celebrate at the newest venue in Brisbane, Queens Wharf, on Saturday 7 September - it's a chance to dress up, mingle and come together as a Lauries community.
And finally, rounding off the year with a musical bang, we have Jazz on the Hill! Hosted on Gair Field at the College on Friday 4 October, we can't wait to be serenaded by our talented students and special guests as they showcase their musical prowess. This event is all about celebrating art, culture and the incredible talent within our community.
So, Lauries Community, get excited, get involved and get ready to be a part of these amazing events! Let's come together, make memories and celebrate everything that makes St Laurence's College such an incredible community to be a part of. See you there!
